  1. From my experience, wait for the right moment, but don’t wait for too long. Make sure you are old enough to be independent and able to support yourself should something go wrong (if they have a very negative reaction). Then sit down with them and just be honest and tell them in your own words. Don’t get into too much detail. If you are in a relationship, try not to bring it out right away, because there’s a chance they will turn to your partner and focus their negativity on him/her, forcing you to break it up. Alternatively, if you think that your parents would feel better about you being gay if they knew you’re not sleeping around but are in fact in love with someone, then tell them all about your partner. Good luck!

  2. Don’t do it. It’ll break their hearts. Just keep it a secret. You owe them that much.

  3. Tell them you have something important to tell them and tell them with a grave, serious face. They’ll freak out and think that something very bad happened, like maybe someone died or something. Then when you tell them you’re gay, they’ll be relieved. It worked for me!
